Josie Matlick

Josie grew up in Denver, Colorado. She was born into a soccer family and took her first steps with a ball at her feet. Josie played for Broomfield Soccer Club before starting her college career at Otero Junior College where the team took a Region IX Championship and landed 4th in the nation for NJCAA DI.  She transferred and finished her collegiate career at Mars Hill University, helping the team to the most successful conference record in the past ten years. Following her graduation, Josie played one season for FC Muri in Switzerland before returning home to start her coaching career. In fall of 2019 she became a Graduate Assistant for Eastern New Mexico University’s women’s soccer program and began her masters’ studies in Sports Administration. In 2021 Josie accepted a position at Davis & Elkins College where she gained valuable, hands-on experience with both the men’s and women’s programs. During her two-year stint she saw the men’s team to two national tournament rounds of 16 appearances, and the women’s first ever conference appearance in the MEC post-season tournament with the highest record in six years.  She has recently begun her coaching career at LA Bulls and aspires to continue developing her knowledge and one day be a head coach.
