Originally from England, Mike Elias grew up in a football culture where the game is lived, studied, and respected. His early pathway included a brief spell as an apprentice player with Leyton Orient FC (English Division Two), which shaped his standards, professionalism, and deep appreciation for the technical and tactical demands of elite football. That foundation; combined with extensive playing experience within the Greek KOPA League, became the launchpad for a coaching career built on excellence, player development and a winning culture.

Mike’s coaching journey spans decades across youth, academy, pre-professional, and professional environments. He is widely recognized for transforming Ventura County Fusion into a national powerhouse, leading the club’s mens team to the USL2 National Championship and Regional Championship in 2022, while maintaining an elite competitive standard and a clear identity in style of play. He also played a key role in building and launching the club’s USL Academy program, creating a pathway through multiple D1 college connections that prepared players for the professional level through performance-driven training, high standards, and long-term development planning.

In 2024, Mike stepped onto the professional stage with CV Fuego FC (USL League One), serving both as Assistant Coach and later Head Coach, contributing to tactical preparation, game management, player development, recruitment, and day-to-day leadership in a high-performance environment.

Now serving as Head Coach for the Los Angeles Bulls within the MLS NEXT and MLS Academy program, Mike brings a unique blend of European football influence and American player development experience. His coaching style is defined by a modern, attacking mindset balanced with strong defensive principles, a detailed approach to tactical periodization and a relentless focus on developing players who can solve problems under pressure. Known as an outstanding communicator and culture builder, Mike consistently creates environments where players are held to professional standards while being supported with clarity, empathy and belief.

Mike’s mission is simple: develop elite players, build winning teams, and create a pathway that helps athletes reach college, professional and international opportunities. His long-term ambition is to continue coaching at the highest level of the game while leaving a lasting impact through leadership, mentorship and the next generation of top-level players.
