Raul Ruiz

Coach Ruiz, is a former professional player who has played in Mexico for Victoria FC 3rd division, Bachilleres FC 2nd division and Atlas FC reserves in Guadalajara Mexico. 

Ruiz graduated from Concordia University with a Master’s degree in Coaching and Administration and from Cal State University Dominguez Hills in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a Minor in Coaching along with a Fitness Director’s Certificate.  

Coach Ruiz demands academic excellence and promotes the ideals of good sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, character and individual achievement. Ruiz has been coaching competitive soccer for over 28 years.

Ruiz has been a part of the Cal South Olympic Development Program, has served as a club director for various clubs and has successfully been coaching in the MLS Next academy circuit the last 6 years. His coaching style implements the Coerver pyramid of success as part of his teaching methodology. Utilized during player development, this teaching method has proven successful in the overall preparation for student athlete player development. 

Ruiz has developed and produced male and female student athletes that have gone on to play in top Division I, II, NAIA Universities and Major League Soccer (MLS).
